TheMIGroup Makes the Annual Baker's Dozen List for the 5th Year Running!

In the May 2009 issue of HRO Today, TheMIGroup once again made the Baker's Dozen list. Annually HRO Today conducts a survey to identify the top thirteen relocation providers; TheMIGroup has made this list for the past five years.
Ranking Methodology - Vendors were asked to send their clients a link to an anonymous survey; clients could then complete the survey online, once submitted the results were automatically sent to HRO Today for analysis. The survey measured user satisfaction along with breadth and quality of service, as well as deal size and other issues. HRO Today ranked only those providers for which they could compile enough statistically valid customer data. |

Kazakhstan Foreign Labor Quotas - 2009

The 2009 quota for foreign labor permitted in the Republic of Kazakhstan will be
determined on the 1st of December 2008.
The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan established the quota to protect the
domestic labor market and it is distributed among the regions and the cities,
including Astana and Almaty. The quota takes into account the current status of
the labor market and the economic requirements of these regions.

Beijing Traffic Restrictions
July 2008
This is the latest update from the Chinese Government. Starting from July 20, all deliveries and pick-ups
will be done in the twilight hours. Packing and unpacking will still be done during normal daylight hours. In
addition, all vehicles will be restricted to operating on alternate days dictated by the last digit in the
vehicle number plate and the date. Therefore only vehicles whose last digit is an even number will be
permitted on the road that day and be off the road the next day and so on. Area restrictions will be eased
from August 28, but not by much.

IRS Announces Increased Standard Mileage Rates

In response to increased fuel costs, on June 23, 2008 the IRS announced that it is increasing the optional standard mileage rates used for computing deductible automobile costs for business and other purposes, including moving. Announcement 2008-63.

Canadian Housing Market Outlook

The average Canadian housing market and national MLS® home sales activity is projected to remain strong throughout 2008 and the national average house price is forecast to rise more than 5% in 2008. In relation to the record setting activity last year, the national average housing starts and MLS® home sale activity is easing slightly, and with the average price up 3.2% a balanced housing market has emerged.
